Allama Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi

Dr. Allama Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi is a prominent Pakistani religious scholar, educationist, and the current Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology. He is widely recognized for his moderate views, his leadership of the Jamia Naeemia Lahore seminary, and his efforts to bridge traditional Islamic scholarship with modern state governance. He was initially appointed to the Council in May 2024, and was reappointed Chairman for a full three-year term in December 2025 by President Asif Ali Zardari.
He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies and a Gold Medal in Arabic from the University of the Punjab, and is an alumnus of Government College University Lahore. He also chairs the Muttahida Ulema Board Punjab, and in March 2024 was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan for his services to religious education and interfaith harmony.
